“Jiyu” Seals – Seals with Auspicious Words (Warring States: 475-221 BC)
古人因敬天地、信鬼神、尚吉祥，故常以帶有吉祥意義之詞語作為印文刻入印章，以圖吉利。常見吉語印文有：「李是千萬」、「有金」、「富」、「萬歲」等。
Because ancient people respected heaven and earth, believed in ghosts and gods, and loved prosperity, they often used words with auspicious meanings to engrave into seals. Common “jiyu” seals are 有金 (Have gold), 萬歲 (Long live), 富(Rich), etc.
