Bighorn Sheep are masters at climbing high, steep and rocky mountainous terrain. They live in herds grazing off grasses and woody plants, such as willow and sage. Males use their large, curved horns to compete for the chance to mate with the females. When they butt, their foreheads meet at speeds exceeding twenty miles per hour. The contact is so loud; it can be heard up to a mile away. This image shows the silent strength of the male at rest. I dreamed to capture this blue background to accompany his golden brown eye.
