Sleep eluded me. I ventured out at 3am to the Angeles National Forest, in search of the Gray Fox. I arrived two hours later, feeling refreshed in anticipation of a sighting. The day wore on and the elusive gray fox eluded me, too. I searched the tress, wondering if I had missed one scurrying up, or jumping from branch to branch, on its descent down.
Thirteen hours later, a Gray Fox finally showed up. She sat in darkness. The last remaining ray of light shone beautifully across her silken coat. She retreated back to the woods and hiding, and I returned home to capture some much-needed sleep, and to dream about her.
