There is an unspoken hierarchy in the polar bear population. The robust, healthy and strong adult bears venture out during the day to hunt for food and the weak, more fragile come out at night. Mother bears and cubs tend to come out only in the late evening hours.
This image shows a mother leading her two cubs in their quest for food. One cub has fallen behind, yet the mother has her sights set on moving forward. The dark of the night helps ensure that they remain undisturbed and free to roam the land in all its pristine beauty.
