Prehistoric Fight

Like gladiators of the past, Muskoxen prepare for battle armed and armored. They have sharp, hooked horns on their heads and a thicker-than-thick, long wooly coat to protect them from the elements of the Arctic tundra. They assert dominance in different ways. Though skittish, they will charge if threatened. Often, they rush their opponent from the side, offering a chance of escape.

On the seventh day of observation, the skies opened up and in came light. I captured this image of the two Muskoxen, as the sun appeared through the clouds for a brief moment.
