Dai Zhen in Jiu Zhang Suan Shu
Zhang Heng (張衡, East Han Dynasty 25-220 A.D.) was the first in the world to adopt π= . Liu Hui (劉徽 3rd cent. A.D.) created the exhaustion method (割圓術) to find the approximate value of π=3.1416. Illustration by Dai Zhen (戴震) in Jiu Zhang Suan Shu《九章算術》.
